On Nov. 12, 2019 the launch ceremony of the first offshore wind farm in Taiwan at Longfeng Harbor, Miaoli County was initiated by President Ing-Wen Tsai in person and it was a very important milestone in Taiwan. 22 wind turbines were installed this time with a total installed capacity of 128 MW that could generate a total of about 53.9 million kilowatt-hours. It could provide electricity for 128 thousand households annually and the energy is relatively clean. It is expected to reduce 245 thousand tons of carbon emissions, quite an effective achievement. The government is an important starting point in implementing the overall green energy policy and this is also a very important moment for Taiwan to develop its green energy industries.
