December 22 Dr. Chien’s Eco-report: 2012 Cross-Strait Four-Regions Solid Waste Forum

The 2012 Cross-Strait Four-Regions Solid Waste Forum ended successfully. This forum invited scholars and researchers from the cross-strait four-regions, including Taiwan, China, Hong Kong and Macao together to discuss the issue of solid waste recycling. This forum was held in China last year, and it will be held in Hong Kong next year. Due to successful implementation achievements of waste recycling in Taiwan, TAISE Board Chairman Dr. Eugene Chien was invited by this forum to give a speech entitled “Resource recovery in Taiwan under a social enterprise model”. Chairman Dr. Eugene Chien indicated that enterprise resource recovery is a kind of business model; through the operation of this model, division of labor and cooperation for five phrases of the life cycle of PET bottles (producers, consumers, scavengers, recycling plants and Resource Recycling Management Foundation) can be maintained so as to keep working on the recovery work smoothly. This model makes a good example for waste recycling for the cross-strait four regions.
